Who is mishmashmor?
I love movies. I love music. I love chocolate and holidays. I love my dog more than I love most people. I’m writing a novel.
In addition to this, I am a very accomplished procrastinator. This blog allows me to fool myself into thinking I am doing some sort of exercise in writing whilst avoiding actually writing said novel.
In my day job I work at making the day jobs of other people better.
What do I write about here?
Mainly movies and music. And sometimes my dog. Also occasionally some random blabberings on life.
I don’t write reviews – I write reactions. I don’t pretend to be an expert film critic but I am without doubt, a film lover.
February 2013 update – I have started a personal mission to read every book on my bookcase (there is a mix of those I’ve read a million times over and those that have been sitting there untouched a long while) and watch every movie I own, and then record those thoughts here. Wish me luck!
What movies do I like?
I give pretty much any genre (except horror – I’m a wimp), any actor (except Seagal – he’s horrendous) and any director (that’s actually true) a fair pop. Labyrinth will always be my favourite film and no one will ever convince me that Bowie was anything but amazing as The Goblin King.
What music do I like?
00s metal, 90s grunge, and 60s, 70s, 80s classic arena rock mainly. With a bit of Britney on the side when the mood strikes.
